The DC Nano –Only For Money

Let me begin by stating my very honest opinion of the TATA Nano. I hate it. I don’t like its design or its configuration or any of the other things that it comes with. I get the whole affordability rant of it, but I am of the opinion that you’d rather put in a little more money and go in for a Maruti Alto 800 or a Hyundai i10 or even a Chevrolet Beat for instance if you really are on that tight a budget, and considering the fact that you are considering a Nano, i could be pretty sure that you are. However, I think I might have actually come across a Nano that even I might actually be quite fathomed by despite of my contempt for it.

If exclusivity on a tight budget is what you are looking for then the DC Nano is your car. The DC badge on practically anything with four wheels turns eyes to it and this DC Nano comes with absolutely no exception. It is quite magnificent to say the least. By adding in about Rs. 80,000 to your budget you can transform a base model Tata Nano to a DC Nano and still have a car better looking than a fully configured Nano that Tata offers at a price of 2.23lacs.
Basically what you get is a Custom DC body kit tailor made for the Nano. The kit instalment procedure being round about the same as that of a stock Nano you could probably do it yourself. I don’t particularly suggest installing a whole body kit yourself, but if you are able to get the components at a cheaper rate from another dealer and not directly from DC, then you might have no other choice.
Coming to the kit, I really do like most of the car with a slight exception with its front. Personally, i think the grills are far too big for a car far to small. This makes the bumper really stick out which in my opinion is never a good thing as it makes the rest of the car look quite 'out of proportion'. However, the side skirts are quite nice, I really like the introduction of the fin on the rear door next to the rear wheel. It brings a new dimension of sportiness to the car without actually spoiling to much. Another eye catcher on this vehicle is the matte black strip onto the side skirt which makes the car seem a bit more personalised.
Although the price is quite steep, all in all I believe this is a pretty good deal. Personally i would never indulge in a kit based modification for most cars, but the DC Nano could actually be what converts me into being a kit based modification fan for small cars.
